I can see twitter as more of a PLN than a classroom teaching tool. Have made some contacts with some retired teachers. I Have 11 followers. We'll see where it goes! -wf
I'm not convinced using twitter is really something I think would be worth my time at the moment. I read an article (linked from Marta's blog,.....I think) that mentioned students using twitter during class for some immediate feedback to the instructor. Can't say I really see that happening in my classroom. We don't allow students to use their cell phones during school hours.
I agree with you, Steve, regarding students using twitter during class instruction. If the teacher is present, face-to-face feedback is always best.
Now, if it was for an internet-based classroom (such as this) when everyone logged in at the same time, I can see where a Twitter can be a great tool to use for a running dialogue of the assignment, new discoveries, ideas, etc. (kind of like a wiki but with the instant feedback)
